Crewe Alex: Lawrence angry at Crewe snub
Thordarson says he has moved on to other targets, but a bid to capture a foreign-based centre-half fell through yesterday when his personal terms proved to be beyond Crewe's reach.
Meanwhile, Lawrence says the Icelandic manager offered him the Gresty Road captaincy following his impressive loan spell last season.
But Thordarson's interest in the 34-year-old cooled and he has since signed Histon defenders Patrick Ada and Matt Mitchell-King.
"I gave my all for Crewe during my loan spell, so I am very disappointed to hear they no longer want me," said Lawrence.
"It's important people understand I wasn't trying to be greedy.
"But I've not heard a word from the manager since he offered me the captaincy and involved me in his planning for next season. If that is the sort of man he is, then perhaps he has done me a favour."
Thordarson confirmed: "I've moved on – I have been looking elsewhere for defenders.
"I am bringing two or three trialists in over the next few days. One is Scandinavian and the others are British-based."
CREWE kick-off their pre-season schedule at Newcastle Town tomorrow (2.30pm).
