Our popular guided walks are back!

Join us as we take an evening walk into the woods to experience this amazing reserve from a brand new perspective.

We’ll head out to discover what we share the twilight hours with, exploring the coming darkness with all of our senses.

Our journey will lead us to the heart of the reserve at Clough Meadow where we hope to see pipistrelle bats emerge from their roost and begin feasting on moths and insects. We’ll bring bat detectors and field guides to help you confirm their identity.

Those with keen hearing may hear the evocative call of a tawny owl.

On returning to the visitor centre, we’ll show you what's in our moth trap, and there'll be a chance to see clips of the DVD all about the barn owl family that nested here this year.

Meet us at the Coombes Valley Visitor Centre at the advertised times, bring a torch and come dressed appropriately. Walking boots or wellies are highly recommended. We do have some steep sections of path, and while we’ll walk at a slow pace it may not be suitable for everyone.
