NONSENSE: I am happy I don't live anywhere near the mosque that's being built in Regent Road, Hanley.

In my opinion its a monstrosity. To say its for all the community is a nonsense. The mosque and the community centre will in the main only be used by Muslims. If ever such a building was proposed in Newcastle I would go to the ends of the earth to stop it.

The council should be ashamed of themselves for allowing it but then again it's no surprise as they are well known for pandering to minorities. This mosque is another nail in the coffin of Stoke-on-Trent.

Why has this letter been re-printed two-and-a-half years after it was first published?”

“Council known for pandering to minorities, so why are they not pandering to you then Mr. Lowe, as most in the city understand the importance of having this building, and to one that is to be built in the South of the city to. I'll tell you why they are not pandering to you shall I, because your are a foolish, racist, uneducated, bigot, thinking of no-one or no thing but yourself and the people who you want to appeal to. You make me sick, you nasty man, get walking then, right down the fast lain of the M6 and don't come back.

I'll tell you why this utter idiot thinks he will see the mosque pulled down, he thinks in his own deluded little mind that a right wing party like the BNP, witch he is a known supporter of will one day gain power in the UK. Most of us have a brain John, its not going to happen.”

“Sure we will see a few demolished too for reasons already known to us. Poor construction, shoddy foundations, inappropriate building ground..... I'm talking about building standards of course. As for the rest I'm always amused by the sense of perpetuity that goes with any form of belief. Religious or otherwise. Doubtful if science will ever find a cure for entropy so they're all going to end up as rubble one day anyway. Hardly cathedrals so their time will be brief. Never get a brick miniature of Newcastle court with a phallus stuck on the end of it passed off as being worth a listed building status. They're being built readily disposable to suit a temporary demand. Sorry, but if that's incorrect, then their architects need a slap. Personally wouldn't give it a second thought. Anymore than I would a lamppost. (Other than to drive straight past it).”

“Oh yes whist you can't drop off the end of the earth neither can you travel to the ends of it because to do so whilst remaining earth-bouhd, would mean walking round in never-ending circles.”
