Pupils earn 'good' rating
An Ofsted report says children at Carmountside Primary School, Abbey Hulton, are also eager to take part in extra-curricular activities, such as rowing, and to take on extra responsibilities.
The "imaginative" projects, "enthusiastic" leadership, and support from good teachers and skilled assistants have all contributed to the high expectations at the school.
The report, which rates Carmountside as a good school overall, says: "Pupils say how much they enjoy coming to school because of interesting lessons and the range of activities and sports."
But inspectors have called for better tracking systems to assess reception pupils' progress and a review of the roles of middle managers to prevent them being overloaded with responsibilities.
