CLUBBING TOGETHER: Sixteen golfers completed a challenge to raise money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

The event was organised by Andrew Wilson, from Yarnfield, in memory of his partner Debs who died from cancer in August 2008, at the age of 46.

The golfers played four rounds on four different courses – Newcastle, Trentham Park, Barlaston and Stone.

They started out yesterday at 4.30am and finished at around 9.30pm.

Andrew, aged 47, said: "It was a fantastic day.

"It went very well and we were lucky to have good weather for it.

"I would like to thank the four golf clubs for allowing us to use their facilities, to everyone who has sponsored us and to those who helped us on the day by caddying, driving teams around and preparing food.

"We set ourselves a target of £1,600, but I think we've beaten that so everyone has done really well."
