Year six pupil Tamzin Flannagan

, aged 10, from Uttoxeter, said: "I think a pond is a great opportunity for us to learn about wildlife.

"We could use it for science lessons and it would also help to make the school's grounds look nicer."

Fellow year six pupil Holly Pinfield

, aged 11, from Rocester, said: "I love wildlife and I think it is a great thing to learn about at school.

"We do a topic called 'life cycles' in science so the pond could help with that and we'd be able to watch the frogs grow."
