I'M WRITING to register my utter dismay that, in the days of austerity, our free-spending council are once again making free with the local taxpayers money.
They have wasted millions.
Remember the Cultural Quarter legal debacle, the wasted branding on the pathetic City Sentral name, the closure of care homes and swimming pools, and the neglect of our local cemeteries? The list is seemingly endless.
They all cost millions of our money. Now we are to foot the bill for the new £40 million council building.

Well let me ask a few awkward questions of our local elected spendthrifts.
What is happening to the £134,000 for the solar panels on the Civic Centre in Stoke?
Now you are moving, will we put anything back? Who is going to build this new Civic Centre because it isn't one of our local companies?
Councillors should read the local papers to see how angry people are at the waste.
If the place was being run as a business they would have gone bump years ago.
Show us the books and let us see what's really going on.
