TREE-MENDOUS: For one chapel a single Christmas tree was just not enough.

Rudyard Chapel instead opted for a Christmas tree festival, boasting 29 individual trees decorated by the community.

Organiser Jean Lloyd, aged 62, from Rudyard, pictured, said: "This is the third Christmas tree festival we've done and all funds go to the Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust.

"People from Rudyard and the surrounding areas are invited to decorate a different tree with a different theme and this year we've had some quite unusual ones."

Horton St Michael's First School created a contemporary tree from a metallic pyramid which they decorated with magnets.

Another popular entry was entitled The 12 Days Of Christmas with decorations that illustrated the Christmas aftermath such as cut-up credit cards and empty bottles.

Traditional trees featured wooden decorations.
