Drug hopes for Madison

YOUNG cancer sufferer Madison Parton has started a potentially life-saving drug trial.

The Sandford Hill schoolgirl, aged four, has a rare form of childhood cancer and is classed as terminally-ill.

Her family hope the six-month trial of a new drug at Birmingham Children's Hospital will give her a new lease of life.

The trial began yesterday and will see the un-named drug administered to her in hospital over a 72-hour period.

Madison will then return for another dose 21 days later.

Her mum, 34-year-old Annette, said: "I am a little nervous about things, but I know this is a chance for Madison."
