Enduring British spirit defies rain

May I through the Post & Times thank all of those who attended our Classic Car and Family Fun Day on Sunday June 7.

On the day, many classic cars, charity stalls, commercial outlets and a few members of the public braved the weather and turned up for us. To them we are very grateful.

Although we try to plan everything in order to give the Cheadle public a great day out, we cannot unfortunately control the weather, which on the day turned out to be very wet indeed. By 2pm the decision was taken to close the show. Many of the classic cars, stalls and the public had left and the promised fly past by the Dakota had been cancelled due to the weather conditions.

Once again many thanks to all those that in the true British spirit, turned up and made the most of a very wet day.

We can only hope that the weather will be better next year.
