COMMUNITY groups and charities are being given the chance to promote their work and drum up more members by taking part in a Rotary day.

Anyone from scout and guide packs to Women's Institute regulars can book a free table at the event on Saturday, February 27.

It is being organised by Haslington Rotary Club, near Crewe, to help bring the community together and to show the role the Rotary plays in supporting local and international projects.

The event takes place between 10am and 2pm at Yoxall village hall, in Haslington. It will be followed in the evening by a performance by Winterley Methodist Church Brass Band.

People going along on the day will also be able to see a display featuring a shelter box, which is one of the items bought through rotary club funds.

To book a table for the daytime event, contact Rotary club president Caroline Lowe on 01270 760169. Tickets for the evening performance cost £5 from Chris or Lorna Boardman on 01270 617334.
