GLAD TO BE ON BOARD: Entertainer Pete Conway has thrown his support behind a charity which represents the needs of adults with autism.

Robbie Williams's dad has joined fellow panto star and Stoke's Top Talent winner Su Annagib as a patron of Staffordshire Adults Autistic Society (SAAS).

Pete, pictured, was at the charity's Newcastle headquarters yesterday to support the cause.

Pete said: "I'm glad to be on board with SAAS, and look forward to being involved. I will support the cause of autism and do everything I can to help."

Su added: "I was delighted to hear that Pete was going to be a patron for SAAS. He is a genuine guy and it was great working with him in the panto."

SAAS chairman Kevin Healey said: "This is great news that Pete has decided to come on board. Pete has also kindly offered to compere our variety show later in the year."
