A DONATION of more than £500 will be used to boost a pre-school's play equipment.

Danebank Community Pre-school in Crewe has been handed £523 from Britannia Building Society's Community Fund.

The school, which celebrated its 21st birthday last year, will use the money to buy a caterpillar counter for its play area.

General manager Maureen Webster said: "The play equipment will provide a practical and hands-on learning experience in a fun and very stimulating environment."

Gina Johnson, manager of Britannia's Crewe branch, added: "The caterpillar counter will provide an enjoyable learning experience for many years to come."

Britannia's Community Fund offers one-off donations of up to £1,000 to non-profit organisations.
