NANTWICH: Firefighters were called to the Red Cow pub, in Beam Street, Nantwich, after a fire broke out on the ground floor of the premises.
Three fire engines from Crewe and Nantwich were sent to the incident after the alarm was raised at 10.18am yesterday.
Parts of the building were left smoke-logged and crews used thermal imagining cameras to inspect the loft space to ensure the fire had not spread.

Magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre were told the defendant was already serving a 32-month prison sentence imposed at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
The new sentence was ordered to run concurrently.
STAFFORD: A man accused of being in charge of a motor vehicle while over the limit on February 2 and drink driving at Newcastle on the same date will stand trial at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on April 23.
Thomas Gratty, aged 27, of Tixall Road, Stafford, denies the allegations.
Magistrates granted him unconditional bail.
NORTHWOOD: Natasha Walters, aged 22, formerly of Chell and now of Keelings Road, Northwood, has been sent to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court by magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre. She is charged with robbing Darren Oakes of £73.50 and 12 cigarettes together worth £75 at Tunstall on February 7.
She will next appear at crown court on March 1.
Magistrates granted her conditional bail.
