KNYPERSLEY: A cash-strapped charity which supports elderly residents will hold its next meeting today.

Moorlands Home Link Support Group will meet at The Bateman Centre, at St John's Church, Knypersley, from 7.30pm. Anyone interested in supporting the charity is welcome to attend.

A spokesman for the charity said: "This group is invaluable to the work that goes on, not only through fund-raising, but by organising and planning."

Magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre adjourned the case until February 26.

LEEK: Ian Cooper, aged 40, of Chorley Street, Leek, is accused of failing to comply with the requirements of a community order made on November 1, 2011.

NEWCASTLE: Craig Barlow, aged 30, of Rydal Way, Newcastle, is accused of of damaging a double glazed window worth £300 at Newcastle on December 9.

Magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre adjourned the case until March 5 and granted him conditional bail.

STOKE: The Crown Prosecution Service at North Staffordshire Justice Centre has withdrawn an offence of assault against Lee Smith, aged 29, of Swithin Drive, Stoke, because he has now been cautioned by the police.

HANLEY: David Plant, aged 42, of Homer Street, Hanley, is accused of a shop theft on March 24. Magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre adjourned the case until March 1.
