STOKE-ON-TRENT: Kestutis Bilys has been fined £200 after he dropped a cigarette end on the pavement.The 21-year-old, of Standersfoot Place, Chell Heath, was seen by a Stoke-on-Trent City Council environmental crime officer throwing the cigarette to the ground in Fenton on June 21 last year. He was given an £80 fixed penalty notice but he failed to pay the money in 14 days. Bilys also failed to attend an interview in August and has made no contact with the city council. He was sentenced in his absence by Stafford magistrates yesterday to a £200 fine, a £15 victim surcharge and £229.90 costs.
LONGTON: Michael Murray, aged 21, of Longley Road, Longton, has pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty, causing criminal damage to the window of a house and criminal damage to a police cell all on December 16. He also admitted being in breach of a conditional discharge imposed for criminal damage.
Murray is due back before North Staffordshire Justice Centre on January 17.
Magistrates granted him bail.

BIRCHES HEAD: A teenager who caused damage to a car by kicking it has been told to pay £204 compensation. Joshua Fernyhough, aged 18, of Fairhaven Grove, Birches Head, pleaded guilty at North Staffordshire Justice Centre to criminal damage to a Toyota Versco at Hanley on December 23. He was conditionally discharged for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
FENTON: A warrant without bail was issued for Daniel Blizard, aged 31, of Christchurch Street, Fenton, after he failed to turn up at North Staffordshire Justice Centre to face a charge of failing to comply with the community requirements of a suspended sentence order imposed last July.
