NORTH STAFFS: Cleon Johnson, who is charged with a number of offences including wounding with intent, conspiracy and false imprisonment, will enter his pleas at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on March 1.

The 27-year-old, of no fixed address, is accused of conspiracy to supply methadone; falsely imprisoning Shaune Rowe and detaining him against his will; assaulting Richard Simmonds; unlawfully and maliciously wounding Shaun Rowe with intent to do him grievous bodily harm; unlawfully and maliciously wounding Lee Annable with intent; unlawfully and maliciously wounding Chandler Jones with intent; theft of an iPhone and wallet worth £400 belonging to Chandler Jones; theft of a mobile phone belonging to Richard Simmonds worth £50; and falsely imprisoning Richard Simmonds and detaining him against his will. The allegations are said to have occurred in Blurton on dates in August, September and October.

Johnson was remanded in custody.

ETRURIA: Milan Babic, aged 51, of James Brindley Close, Etruria, has denied four charges of indecent assault; rape; attempted rape; two charges of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child; causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and sexual assault.

Babic's case was adjourned and he will next appear at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on January 14. The defendant was granted bail.

COBRIDGE: Anthony Greatrex, aged 34, of Furnival Street, Cobridge, who is charged with arson with intent to endanger life on December 20, will enter his plea at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on March 11.

He was bailed to live at an address in James Brindley Close, Etruria.
