CHESHIRE: A bus service which was extended this summer is being restored to its original route because of a lack of passengers.
D&G Buses extended its number 85 Hanley to Crewe service onto Nantwich in July for a trial period.
But the extended route has failed to attract enough passengers and will terminate in Crewe again from Monday.
Bus network manager Tim Jeffcoat said: "Buses on this route were extended to Nantwich in July as an experiment, but it hasn't worked for us so we are taking the extension off again and going back to how it was before.

"There simply weren't enough passengers travelling through to make the idea viable, so anyone wanting to get to Nantwich will once again have to change buses in Crewe."
