BLYTHE BRIDGE: A 23-year-old man accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Reece Gilbert was committed to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

David Lovatt, of Bridgwood Road, Blythe Bridge, indicated he would plead guilty to the charge as well as criminal damage to a window at The Royal Oak public house, Cheadle, on September 16.

North Staffordshire magistrates granted him conditional bail to appear at crown court on December 7.

CHEADLE: Amateur show jumper David Shaw has been banned from the roads for 17 months for drink driving.

The defendant, aged 26, of Ness Grove, Cheadle, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol at Leek on October 26.

He gave a reading of 86 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath against a legal limit of 35 micrograms.

He was also fined £190 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

TUNSTALL: Lee Edwards, aged 37, of Scotia Road, Tunstall, will be committed to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on January 4 accused of possession of heroin with intent to supply on September 17. He was granted bail by magistrates.

BURSLEM: David Bennett, aged 48, of Louise Street, Burslem, has pleaded not guilty to an offence of exposure at Burslem on July 21. His trial will be held on January 14 and North Staffordshire magistrates granted him unconditional bail.

MIDDLEPORT: A 38-year-old man charged with production of cannabis was remanded in custody by North Staffordshire magistrates to appear in court on November 14. Ming Chen, of Morton Street, Middleport, is accused of the offence at Werrington on November 8.
