In brief
STOKE: A taxi firm has secured its future in a town centre for the rest of the year.
Lucky Seven private taxi hire operates from Hill Street, Stoke, using a portable building as an office and waiting room.
It had asked for permission to remain at the base for a further five years.
But Stoke-on-Trent City Council has now said it can continue until the start of December this year so the impact on nearby residents can be monitored.
