HANLEY: A vintage-style jewellery and accessory shop is being launched this weekend.

Roxanne Nicholls set up her Charms and Chains stall at Hanley Indoor Market earlier this year and she has now moved into a bricks-and-mortar shop in Town Road.

She has joined forces with photographer Rebecca Jones who is based next door to hold a Halloween launch event on Saturday.

Roxanne, aged 21, of Norton, said: "During the day we are having two students from Stoke-on-Trent College doing special effects make up, and there will also be trick or treat style games, a photo booth, cake and more."

HANLEY The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery is inviting visitors to celebrate Diwali, the festival of light, on Saturday, November 17.

Activities take place from 10.30am until 4pm.

They include Dandia dance performances and workshops, live Indian classical music, and Bhangra displays. Visitors will also be able to watch an expert Rangoli (floor art) artist at work, and learn about the story of Diwali through a drama performance.

This event has been funded by Arts Council England and supported by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue, the Asian Fire Service Association and Staffordshire University.
