BURSLEM: A man and woman have both denied an affray on July 10.

Shaun O'Neil, aged 30, of Federation Road, Burslem, and Kerry Pointon, aged 35, of Riley Street North, Burslem, denied the charge when they appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court yesterday.

O'Neil also denied three charges of racially aggravated assault by beating and having a knife in a public place.

Pointon denied one charge of racially aggravated assault by beating.

The case was adjourned for two weeks so the Crown Prosecution Service can consider whether to proceed with the case, and if so, on what charges.

Both defendants were granted bail.

RUDYARD: Jamie Pope, aged 22, pleaded guilty to drugs charges.

Pope, of The Crescent, Rudyard, admitted possession of class A drug cocaine with intent to supply, on October 15 last year.

He also admitted possession of class B drugs cannabis and M-Cat with intent to supply.

The defendant will be sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court after reports are prepared on him by a probation officer.

BURSLEM: Anthony Shenton, aged 23, of Gallileo Court, Burslem, has pleaded guilty to two offences of criminal damage and breaching bail.

North Staffordshire magistrates adjourned the case until October 15 and he was remanded in custody.

HANLEY: The Crown Prosecution Service at North Staffordshire Magistrates Court has withdrawn a charge of theft from a motor vehicle at Tunstall on July 17 against 26-year-old Ashley Oakes, of Mayer Street, Hanley.

BLURTON: Steven Mason, of Meaford Drive, Blurton, will stand trial accused of resisting a police constable in the execution of his duty at Blurton on August 24.

The 47-year-old's trial was fixed at North Staffordshire Magistrates Court for December 17.
