STAFFORDSHIRE: There is just one day left for residents to have their say on plans to transform care services in Staffordshire.

Consultation on Staffordshire County Council's Green Paper 'A Revolution in Care Quality' closes tomorrow.

Recommendations in the paper include naming and shaming poor care organisations and providing better training and career plans for carers.

MILTON: New players are needed to join a football youth league.

The Milton Youth League is run from the Hardman Centre in Milton and is led entirely by volunteers. The league has teams from under eights through to under 14s.

One of the organisers, Roy Penhallurick, said: "The league keeps hundreds of children off the streets twice a week. We are especially short of youngsters from the under 13s age group but would welcome any child who wants to play football."

To take part or for more information, contact league chairman Andrew Smith on 07716 280614 or secretary Jackie Gough on 07525 060262.
