STONE: Businesses and organisations are being invited to see their work promoted in flowers.

Stafford Borough Council is looking for an emblem or logo to be created in flowers for the carpet beds in Victoria Park, Stafford, and Stonefield Park, in Stone.

Applications need to be made by Friday, November 30.

This year, the carpet bed in Stonefield Park marked 22 years of Stone in Bloom, while Victoria Park celebrated the London 2012 Games.

CHEADLE: An evening of clairvoyance will be held on Saturday, September 29, to raise funds for Cheadle Animal Welfare Society.

The event, which starts at 7.30pm, will feature medium and clairvoyant Lynne Hill.

It takes place at The Cheadle Academy, Station Road, Cheadle, and tickets cost £12, which includes tea or coffee and biscuits.

All proceeds will be used to help abandoned pets.

JOINERS SQUARE: Members of Joiners Square Residents' Association are holding a table top sale, in All Saints Church Hall, in Leek Road, on October 6. Stalls cost £5.

It's one of a number of events to help raise £1,700 for a new playground for the community.

The Joiners Square Residents' Association meets once a month.

LONGTON: A senior citizens' club is appealing for new members.

Organisers behind Doreen's Friendship Group, which provides activities for the over 60s, will run their next session on Wednesday, September 26, from 1.30pm at Longton's Central Hall.

Admission is £2 and includes refreshments.
