SANDFORD HILL: Defendant Cy Podmore, aged 37, of St Mary's Road, Sandford Hill, was sent to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court to appear there next week charged with an offence of robbery. The offence is alleged to have occurred at traffic lights in Longton on August 30 when it is claimed he robbed trauma nurse Kerry Martin of £30.

FEGG HAYES: Committal to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court has taken place in the case of Aaron Stones, aged 21, of Alsbury Place, Fegg Hayes, who is accused of possessing cocaine with intent to supply and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He will appear at the crown court for a plea and case management hearing on October 5 and was given unconditional bail.

BURSLEM: A 33-year-old woman charged with assault has been conditionally bailed by North Staffordshire Magistrates to appear at court again on September 13. Hayley Bretherton, of Wade Street, Burslem, is accused of assaulting Nicola Swann on August 15.

LONGTON: Twenty nine-year-old Scott Jones, of no fixed address, was committed to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court by magistrates charged with intentionally sexually touching a woman at Longton on July 19. He has already entered a not guilty plea. The defendant will appear at the crown court for a plea and case management hearing on October 5 and was conditionally bailed.

BETLEY: Drink-driver William Thomas, aged 22, of East Lawns, Betley, was banned from driving for 12 months by magistrates after he pleaded guilty to an offence of drink driving on August 27 at Newcastle.

A reading showed 61 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, compared to a legal limit of 35mg. As well as the ban, he was fined £245 with £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

BLURTON: Having entered guilty pleas to offences of threatening words or behaviour on August 20 and failing to attend for a follow-up assessment after a test for the presence of a class A drug, magistrates adjourned the case of Shane Holdham, aged 30, of Blurton Road, Blurton, to the drugs court on September 18.

STOKE: A conditional discharge for 12 months was imposed by magistrates on Daniel Davies, aged 21, of Hill Street, Stoke, after he admitted possession of cannabis on August 24.
