STOKE: University student Connor Waite has been committed to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court charged with drug offences.

The 21-year-old, formerly of Lewis Street, Stoke, is charged with possession of MDMA with intent to supply at Shelton on January 27 and possession of cannabis with intent to supply on the same date.

North Staffordshire magistrates have now sent him to crown court for a plea and case management hearing on July 9. He was granted unconditional bail.

HANLEY: Gillian Green, aged 44, of Lower Bethesda Street, Hanley, has pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol from Sainsbury's, Stoke, on March 2 this year. North Staffordshire magistrates have now imposed a six-month community order with supervision.

SMALLTHORNE: Thief Lee Beard, who stole lamb worth £7.50 from a shop, was given a 12-month conditional discharge by North Staffordshire magistrates.

The 38-year-old, of Robert Heath Street, Smallthorne, pleaded guilty to the offence at Meir on February 13.

He was ordered to pay £7.50 compensation but there was no order for costs.

HERON CROSS: North Staffordshire magistrates have issued a warrant without bail for 40-year-old Rodney Wood, of Lilac Grove, Heron Cross, who failed to turn up at court accused of being drunk and disorderly in Nashe Drive, Blurton, on June 2 .

LEEK: The Crown Prosecution Service at North Staffordshire Magistrates Court has discontinued an offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Leek last November against Adrian Kelly, aged 20, of Prince Charles Avenue, Leek.
