CREWE: A tennis club is appealing for new members to go along and take part in the sport.

People can still sign up to join the Crewe (Hightown) Congregational Tennis Club, at the rear of 37, Gainsborough Road, Crewe.

The club has two all-weather courts, a pavilion, and parking area.

Club sessions are held every Wednesday evening from 6pm, and Saturdays from 3pm.

POTTERIES: Sightseers are being invited to join a series of special 'health walks' around the region.

The Closer to Home Walking Network has organised the walks at a number of beauty spots and areas of historical interest across the Potteries and beyond.

Among them are walks around Westport Lake, the Trent and Mersey Canal, Ford Green Nature Reserve, Bentilee valley and the Park Hall Nature Trail.

CREWE: A meeting for members of the Rotary Club of Crewe has been cancelled, it has been announced.

The meeting was due to be held at the Hunter's Lodge at 12:45pm on Thursday May 17, but has now been cancelled until further notice.

However, the club's council will still meet at the same venue that day at 6:30pm.

Club president, Tom Protheroe, will preside over the meeting.
