LONGTON: A family fun day is being held to raise money for a children's charity.

The event takes place on Saturday at Thomas Cook in Longton from 11am until 4pm.

Attractions include a prize draw, food from Indian restaurant Blue Tiffin, live music, and a face painter.

Joanne Morris, store manager, said: "If you're near us this Saturday please pop in and celebrate with us. We have lots going on."

Donations will go to Thomas Cook Children's Charity which works with sick and disadvantaged children around the world.

BRADWELL: Families are invited to a Spring Serenade concert organised by The Girls' Association and the 7th North Staffs Boys' Brigade at Bradwell Methodist Church.

Tenor Philip Cartwright will be accompanied by Stefan Andrusyschyn. And the soloists will be Beth Palmer and Natalie, accompanied by Marion Walker. The concert takes place on Saturday, May 12 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5, including coffee and cakes, and are available on the door.

Proceeds will help pay for the work of the groups.

LONGPORT: Charity supporters were today being asked to join a sponsored walk. The Stroke Association was due to hold its annual Step Out For Stroke at Westport Lake in Longport from 10am. Sandra Booth, family and carer support co-ordinator for the charity, said: "It is up to the individual how far they walk, but every lap counts." There is a registration fee of £3 and sponsorship is optional. For further details, call Sandra on 01782 478321.

FORSBROOK: The annual parish meeting of Forsbrook Parish Council takes place at Blythe Bridge and Forsbrook Village Hall on Wednesday, May 9, at 7.30pm.

Residents can attend to air any community concerns.
