HANLEY A walk aimed at amateur photographers is taking place along the Caldon Canal and through Hanley Park this Wednesday.
People can snap pictures of flora and fauna that is hidden alongside the canal. Digital cameras are available to borrow for the event.
Organised by the 'closer to home' walking network, walkers will set off from the ADSIS reception, at Havelock Place, at noon.
Walk leader Jeff Glass said: "Not many people realise just how much there is to see along the canal and in Hanley Park.

"After the walk, people will be welcomed back for a free cup of tea and coffee, and a chance to view everyone's pictures online."
CITY: People who are deaf or hard of hearing are being invited to an event at the Britannia Stadium, where they can get information, advice and support. There will also be activities and demonstrations of equipment.
The free event takes place on Wednesday next week between 10am and 4pm.
It is being organised by Staffordshire-based charity DEAFvibe
LEEK The Royal British Legion will hold a short service at the Nicholson War Memorial, in Leek, at 11am on Tuesday next week to mark the 67th anniversary of V.E. Day, which saw the end of the war in Europe.
Union flags will fly from the memorial and wreaths will be laid in memory of the 101 fallen servicemen from the town who did not return from the Second World War.
