In brief: News from Stafford, Cheadle and Hanley
STAFFORD: A 22-year-old motorcyclist had to have part of his foot amputated after a hit-and-run collision in Stafford.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire after colliding with a dark-coloured car in Ranshaw Drive, on Hough Retail Park, at about 11.10pm on Wednesday. Witnesses can call PC 4811 Brian Griffith on 0300 123 4455.
CHEADLE: North Staffordshire magistrates found a case of driving without due care and attention proved after they heard evidence because defendant James Rhodes failed to turn up to a hearing.
The case, relating to an allegation in Tape Street, Cheadle, on October 9 was adjourned until April 15 for sentence at Newcastle Magistrates' Court.
HANLEY: Shoppers will be treated to a fashion show this weekend. Retailers at Hanley's Potteries Shopping Centre will be showing off their new ranges in a series of shows outside River Island. They will take place tomorrow at noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, and on Sunday at 11am, noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
HANLEY: The case of Ian Cartlidge, aged 32, of Wileman Street, Fenton, has been adjourned until March 25, by North Staffordshire magistrates. He is accused of common assault on Yolanda Lynch, on March 7 this year.
