SNEYD GREEN: Organisers of a new after-school club for 11 to 15-year-olds are appealing for help so they can put on more activities. The sessions will be running between 3pm and 5pm on Wednesdays at Sneyd Green Community Centre, in Ralph Drive, and will include cookery, football, pool, and arts-based activities. They will also involve positive role models, who have overcome difficult experiences to achieve success. But organisers, who are keen to ensure the activities remain free for young people, haven't been able to attract funding for the club. So they are now looking for financial support and also for people interested in acting as role models. For more details, call Craig Milford on 07799 391374.

HARTSHILL: Staffordshire Adult Autism Society (SAAS) will be staging an autism awareness day on June 2 at the North Staffordshire Medical Institute in Hartshill Road, Hartshill.

Dr Luke Beardon, senior lecturer in autism at Sheffield Hallam University, will be among those at the event.
