CITY: An 18-year-old man has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving.
Jonathon Pointon, of Edwards Way, Alsager, appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court yesterday.
He admitted the offence on the A500 between Stoke and Cliffe Vale on December 27 last year.
Judge Robert Trevor-Jones adjourned the case for reports to be produced.
Pointon's co-defendant, Lianne Walker, aged 20, of Marlowe Road, Longton, who pleaded guilty to the same charge, will be sentenced on the same date.
Both defendants have been given unconditional bail.
STONE: Police are appealing for witnesses to an early morning mobile phone robbery.
An 18-year-old man was walking along the A519 at Swynnerton Heath, in Stone, at 4.15am on Monday when a silver Renault hatchback car pulled up beside him.
The driver asked the man some questions before snatching his mobile phone and driving off towards Eccleshall.
The driver was bald, while his front seat passenger was a well-built man, with short brown hair. The two rear passengers are believed to have been female. Anyone with information is asked to contact Stone Neighbourhood Policing Unit on 08453 302010.
AUDLEY: Paul Lovatt, aged 32, of Queen Street, Audley, has pleaded not guilty to seven offences of making indecent images of children between January 1, 2006, and October 11, 2006.
He also denied one charge of possessing indecent photographs of children on October 11, 2006.
Judge Granville Styler yesterday adjourned the case for a trial, to be held on January 27.
Lovatt was given unconditional bail.
MOORS: An Olympic flag will be raised at venues across the Moorlands during the next month.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council hoisted its Olympic handover flag at Brough Park, Leek, on Sunday to coincide with the town's half-marathon.
It will now be erected at other locations across the district's three towns and villages.
LEEK: Raiders escaped with £700 during a break-in at a takeaway in Haywood Street.
The burglars also stole a safe and a gaming machine when they struck between 1am and 4.30pm on Tuesday.
