WALKERS are being invited to take part in this year's Potters 'Arf.

Entry forms have been flooding in for the annual half-marathon, which takes place on June 14, since it was launched in January. Now walkers are being invited to join in.

Event director Don Shelley said: "People who want to walk the course are welcome to do so and every year a number of people do just that. They are usually raising money for charity and we are very happy to give them the opportunity to do it by walking the 13.1-mile Potters 'Arf course. Among this years walkers are 12 people who will be raising money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice."

The race now caters for many levels of ability – runners, charity and fun runners, relay runners and walkers.

Walkers set off earlier than the 10.30am start for runners and there are no time restrictions as they can walk on pavements before the roads are closed and if necessary afterwards when they reopen. All those who finish the course get a commemorative Potters 'Arf plate and T-shirt, just like the runners.

Places in the Potters 'Arf are still available for all levels of ability.
