FUND-RAISERS are in the pink after the success of a charity ball at Alton Towers.

The Pink Tie Ball featured a charity auction, music, dancing and a full dinner.

All guests were expected to wear pink clothing or pink accessories for the event, which raised a total of £11,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Organiser Ada Haywood said: "It was a fantastic night. We'd like to thank Ben Sweet and his amazing staff at Alton Towers.

"Also Andrew Wilson Wines, which gave the profits to Cancer Research UK and our auctioneer, Steve Halls, plus everyone for their kind donations."

The event has already been booked again for September 18 next year.
