Writing is on the wall for recovery
FURTHER evidence that the housing market is showing signs of improvement has come from Agency Express, the biggest supplier of 'For Sale' and 'Sold' boards.
Its figures reveal that month-on-month data for April 2012 shows that For Sale signs converting to Sold increased by 9.5 per cent, the third consecutive monthly increase.
And orders for new For Sale boards rose by 13 per cent compared to March, which is the fourth consecutive monthly increase.
New For Sale listings during April were the highest since last May and the second highest since August 2010, while there were the highest number of Sold signs since February 2010.

Stephen Watson, managing director, of Agency Express, said: "Our property activity index offers a different view on the market place compared to other indices. It's a barometer as to what is happening or is likely to happen in the near future, so with the monthly volume of board movements hitting their highest levels in over two years, I am optimistic that we will continue to see strong performances throughout 2012.''
