A VILLAGE war memorial has been revamped in time for Remembrance day.
The names of those who lost their lives in the two world wars have been repainted on the memorial in Hollow Lane, Cheddleton.

It has been funded by Cheddleton Parish Council, whose chairman Mike Bowen, brought the memorial's deterioration to the attention of his fellow councillors at their last full council meeting.
Mr Bowen said: "I noticed that the black had come off the letters which isn't very good for Remembrance Day.
"So, the council clerk got in touch with Nettle Bank Memorial Services, who have done work for us before.
"I'm very grateful they have done that so quickly for us. They have obviously put themselves out to do it, as they did initially say they had a lot of work on at the moment."
The war memorial lists the names of soldiers from Cheddleton who died in the First World War and Second World War. Chris Sheldon, local historian and author, wrote a book called Debt Of Honour with fellow historian and author John Crosby, about the soldiers from Cheddleton and Leekbrook who died in the wars. He said: "I know that when I researched that book the people of Cheddleton felt very passionately about those who were lost in wartime.
"The overall impression I got from talking to people was that Cheddleton is a very close-knit community and it hit them particularly hard when men were lost from there.
"I'm pleased that the memorial has been re-lettered because it's there for all to see, and for future generations."
Ken Pointon, poppy organiser for the Cheddleton Royal British Legion, said he was pleased the Cheddleton memorial was being re-lettered.
He said: "It really is nice to get these things done. They have got to be kept in good condition."
Cheddleton Royal British Legion is also restoring the Leekbrook war memorial and has installed a new flagpole, donated by Leek metalworking firm F Klucznik & Son.
