BRADWELL under-16s put the ghosts of their County Cup exit behind them as they hit the goal trail against the North Division's bottom club Witton Albion

The Belles fired in five goals without reply, although they had to wait until the second half for the floodgates to truly open.

Dogged defending by the visitors kept Bradwell at bay for much of the first period, until Sophie Cooper's fizzing cross was met by Laura Mooney to hand Belles a 1-0 lead.

However, the second half was a different story as Bradwell took charge. Cooper doubled their lead with a superb shot and substitute Flora Cresswell got in on the act minutes after being introduced when she rounded Witton's keeper.

Bradwell's fourth goal came when Katie Peppitt lifted the ball over Witton's defence and Becky Hargreaves brought it under control before rounding the keeper.

Witton had no answer and conceded a fifth goal when Katie Wood ran at the defence before laying the ball off for Hargreaves to grab her second of the match.

STAFFORD Town under-10s secured a 2-1 victory over Barton.

Goals from midfielder Leila Trussler and Abbie Brown, following an excellent passing move involving Laura Massey, were enough to claim the points.

Safiya Hay-Khan was impressive in defence for Stafford, earning the player-of-the-match award.
