Woman hurt in hit-and-run crash in Burslem

POLICE have launched an investigation after a woman was hurt in a hit-and-run  crash.

The 40-year-old was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with minor injuries following the smash in Scotia Road, Burslem, but she has since been discharged.

Her blue Fiat Punto was in collision with a white Transit van which left the scene at 9pm last Thursday.

 Police have now launched an urgent appeal for witnesses.

Officers are keen to speak to the driver of the van, which is believed to be a white Mercedes high top Transit van with an orange light fitted to the roof. The van may have significant damage to the front passenger quarter.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Matt Walklett  on 101 quoting incident  711 of February 28.
