POLICE have named a woman who was found dead in her home.

Diane Wilkinson, aged 54, whose death is being treated as "unexplained" by police, was found at her house in Ashfields New Road, Newcastle, on Sunday afternoon.

A 16-year-old youth was arrested at the address on suspicion of unlawful killing.

He has now been released on bail until mid-April, pending further inquiries by the police.

A post mortem examination has been carried out, but the results were inconclusive, so further tests will be required.

The matter has been referred to North Staffordshire Coroner Ian Smith, but a date for the inquest has not yet been fixed.
