A WOMAN alleged to have falsely claimed £75,000 in disability benefits is to be committed to crown court.

Kay Wilson is charged with dishonestly failing to promptly notify the Department of Works (DWP) and Pensions of a change of circumstances which would affect her disability living allowance between July 2, 2003 and December 27, 2011, namely that her capabilities had improved.

The 53-year-old, of Oaklands Close, Wetley Rocks, is also accused of dishonestly failing to promptly notify the DWP of a change of circumstances which she knew would affect her entitlement to severe disablement allowance, namely that she was working. Magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre granted Wilson unconditional bail. She will be sent to Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on March 7.
