THE Potteries firm who have agreed to sponsor Port Vale's home shirts are keen to build a fruitful partnership with the club.

UK Windows Systems Ltd, based in Sneyd Green, have struck a deal which runs until the end of the season, and director Gary Beech is hoping the company's support will have mutual benefits.

The firm's logo will appear on shirts for the first time in today's home clash against York City (3pm).

Beech, aged 38, refused to reveal the value of the deal, but is hoping it can help generate business.

"We're thinking this will open some doors for us as a company," he said. "We'll be able to do some networking at the club and it could work in our favour.

"The deal is until the end of the season, with an option for next year too.

"I've been a Port Vale supporter since I was a boy, so when the opportunity came along to sponsor the shirts it was too good to pass up.

"It's important to give something back to our local club and I'm delighted we've been able to show our support."

Beech, from Bradeley, along with fellow directors Richard Barlow and Darren Larkin, are also sponsoring today's match.

Vale commercial consultant John Booth said the company, who have 38 employees manufacturing uPVC doors, windows and conservatories, would be an important partner for the club.

"We had initial discussions at our Corporate Open Day in September, which shows why such events are key to securing potential revenue for Vale."

The club's financial consultant, Julian Garforth, added: "This agreement is another step towards stability for the club, both on and off the field."

"We believe the arrangement can benefit both parties and we look forward to working closely together."

The new shirts will go on sale in the Port Vale club shop from next Friday.

PORT Vale's FA Cup second-round clash at Sheffield United on December 1 has been made all-ticket for visiting supporters.

Tickets, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (over-60s and under-21s), are on sale today.

“At least this deal should be transparent - and great news for the transfer window!”
