Whipping horses is just not right
CLIVE Domagalski's letter in The Sentinel talked about 'horses being very well looked after', and how he went to see exciting races like the Grand National and Cheltenham Festival.
I disagree. It is illegal for any person to whip an animal and they should be dealt with in court.
But jockeys are entitled to whip a horse and hopefully win the race.
It is a sport and several lovely horses in the Grand National died while being whipped by jockeys to jump higher fences than they were able.
This has been going on for many years and is watched by the RSPCA of all people who allow it.
Mr Domagalski is really interested in winning and coming home with his profit from the bookies.
If he went to Blackpool and saw a group of donkeys being whipped to make them go fast would that be legal?
Or if a man riding a horse in the street was seen to be whipping the horse, he would be locked up very quickly and so he should.
I have been told before that the whip does not hurt the horse. I think different.
All people mistreating animals should have action taken against them.
But there are double standards and I will not support the RSPCA.
