TV PRESENTER and author Wendy Turner-Webster will be getting mucky today in aid of animal welfare.

The mother-of-two, pictured, who presented Channel Four's Pet Rescue for seven years, is holding a 'No Wash Week' to in her bid to raise funds and awareness of animals stuck in factories.

Wendy, who grew up in Norton with sister Anthea Turner, is patron of VIVA! – Vegetarians International Voice for Animals – and is keen to highlight that many factory-farmed ducks are not allowed access to water to swim, play and preen.

Wendy, aged 43, said: "Not only will I be wash-free for a week but to make the challenge more – well – challenging I'll do a messy, smelly task every day like mucking out stables, etc."

The task starts today when Wendy will be mucking out stables in Forsbrook.
