SUMMER SESSIONS: A museum is promising fun for all the family with a series of summer workshops.

The sessions, being held at the Wedgwood Museum, Barlaston, aim to involve all the family using pictures, storytelling and creative writing.

Wedgwood deputy learning and access manager Sharon Gater said: "We start by looking at portraits by artists such as Reynolds and Stubbs, and telling stories about the pictures of Wedgwood and his family. The families then get the chance to create their own portraits."

The hour-long sessions, which cost £5 per family, run every weekday at 10.30am and 2pm, until the end of the week.

Next week the museum will be hosting workshops called Celebrating Commemoratives where families can handle some of the collection and then make their own commemorative items for events they want to remember.
