Wedding party illness still a mystery
FIFTEEN people who suffered sickness and diarrhoea after a wedding reception might never find out why they became ill.
Guests at the function at JCB's Lakeside club in Rocester needed help from paramedics after being struck down almost two weeks ago.
Experts from the Health Protection Agency (HPA) took samples from the victims following the outbreak.
But one sample has come back inconclusive and the other was negative.
An HPA spokesman said: "Further tests are being carried out but it could be four weeks until we have the results, and even then we might not be in a position to establish what happened."
The wedding party hired the Station Road club from the digger-maker and brought in private caterers. Three guests were taken to hospital and a further four called 999 for advice after arriving home.
