Vote to shut is just disgusting
I AM writing to express my disgust at the treatment we are receiving from the people who we voted to represent us.
The catalogue of disasters has been well reported. Among the cuts are the closure of the local community centres.
This is a severe blow to many, mainly elderly, residents. But what is really disgusting is for our Labour councillors Andrew Lilley and Duncan Walker to sign a petition to keep them open, and then vote to close them.
Someone once said: "To deceive me once, shame on you. To give you the opportunity to deceive me again, shame on me."

“They're Labour so they're party whipped. The answer to that one is to vote for a decent independent instead. But of course Labour have reduced our opportunities for voting:

Yes it would be better to have a system with a recall opportunity.
And remember MRS J COOPER AND MRS P VIGRASS, the next local council election coincides with the general election, but whomever you decide to vote for in the general you can vote in a different and intelligent way on the local ballot paper, provided you have decent independent candidates. Maybe consider standing yourselves.”

“Well ladies. you should change who you vote for.

“There is an election 15th November you could use that as protest vote if you wished”
