Victim assaulted by man who took his hat in Burton bar

 A man suffered a broken jaw after being punched in the Goodridge bar in Burton at midnight on Sunday, March 25.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the serious assault, which took place on the night that the clocks went forward at around 12am.

The victim was in the bar in Station Street when he was approached by the offender, who took his hat and walked off.

The victim asked for it back but the offender refused and assaulted him causing him a broken jaw.

The victim, a 20-year-old man from Warwickshire, received hospital treatment for his injuries.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident.

A 23-year-old man from Burton was arrested in connection with the incident and remains on police bail while enquiries continue.
