Vandals target Mow Cop cars
A SERIES of cars have been targeted by vandals in Mow Cop.
The vehicles, which were all damaged overnight on Saturday, November 10, and Sunday, November 11, included Peugeot, Skoda, Toyota, Rover, VW and Citroen cars.
They were all parked in Sands Road, Moorland Road, Church Lane or Mow Cop Road.
Officers have carried out house to house inquiries in the area and are reviewing CCTV footage in a bid to trace the offenders.
Sgt Richard Moors, of Newcastle Borough Local Policing Team, said: “We’ve had ten crimes reported to us so far but there may well be other victims who have not yet contacted us so if you live in the area please check your tyres.
“This mindless vandalism could have had dangerous consequences if someone had used their vehicle without noticing the damage.
The cost of repairs for each person runs into hundreds of pounds.”
Anyone with information about the incidents should contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 270 of November 11, or report the information anonymously to Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
