There is a free Valentine card making workshop at Twycross Zoo on February 11 and 12, running between 12 noon and 1pm.
The zoo is also hosting a Love Is In The Air: Valentine's Dinner on February 11, starting at 7pm. Tickets are priced £19.95 including meal.

There is a 1940's Valentine Dance at Newtone Regis Village Hall near Tamworth. Revellers are invited to put on their best dress or zoot suit and step out in style and stroll, lindy hop and jive our way back down memory lane to the fabulous 1940's!! 40's singing sensation Miss Lola Lamour and top 40's entertainer DJ Woody are providing entertainment. Biddulph Town Hall is holding a Valentine's Evening of music and dance on Friday, February 17 from 7.30pm to 11pm. Music will be provided by the Biddulph U3A Music Group, Regeneration. Tickets cost £5 and are available from Rita McNulty on 01782 523699.
Trentham Monkey Forest is holding a photography competition to mark Valentine's Day. Visitors to the attraction will be encouraged to take pictures and write captions on the theme 'Monkey Love' during the school holidays. The best entry will win a behind-the-scenes tour at the Monkey Forest. A second prize of a family pass and a toy Barbary macaque monkey is also up for grabs. The attraction at Trentham Gardens opens from February 11.
Couples can celebrate the year's most romantic day while raising money for charity at the Dog and Doublet pub, in Sandon. The pub is offering a four-course meal with 60 per cent of the price being donated to the Katharine House Hospice, in Stafford. Couples will be asked to pay £25 for their meal and £15 will go to the charity to help continue its work looking after adults with incurable illnesses.
