Vale's young guns on trail of cup glory
VALE'S youth team are looking forward to a trip to Crystal Palace in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.
Mick Ede's young side came from a goal down to clinch a 2-1 victory at Bury in midweek, thanks to goals from Nathan Smith and Luke Beesley, and will now travel to Selhurst Park on a date to be arranged.
Vale started brightly and Beesley had an early shot saved, while keeper Ryan Boot made an important stop soon after.
Tom Morris was just wide with a 20-yarder and Josh Croft also went close, but it was Bury who took the lead soon after the break with a shot from Regan Walker.

Vale, though, bounced back in style with two goals in six minutes.
Will Whieldon's free-kick from the edge of the area hit the inside of a post and Smith was on hand to turn home the rebound.
Beesley then raced clear and produced a strong finish into the corner of the net after 57 minutes.
Beesley had another shot beaten away and Ollie Marland fired just wide as Vale made sure of deserved progress.
